Mani and the Persian Kings

Philip Jenkins has recently offered a very nice discussion, in two parts, of an important recent book on Manichaeism by Iain Gardner, Jason BeDuhn and Paul Dilley, Mani at the Court of the Persian Kings: Studies on the Chester Beatty Kephalaia Codex (Brill 2015). The first part introduces Manichaeism and the Manichaean corpora, and will make fine reading for those relatively unacquainted with this rarified but fascinating material. In the second part, Jenkins reflects upon the essays by Gardner, BeDuhn and Dilley themselves.
